The Macarthur Rams booked their place in this Sunday’s PS4 National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s 1 Grand Final with a convincing 4-1 win over the Blacktown Spartans.
The dominant performance was capped off with a brace from Georgia Yeoman-Dale and a goal each to Elisha Williams and the inform Kate Hensman. Morgan Roberts scored a consolation goal in the second half for the Spartans.
It’ll be a quick turnaround now for the Spartans as they face Sydney University on Wednesday night in hope of sealing their place in the Final.
Hensman opened the scoring for the Rams in the 34th minute after a great run and ball from Yeoman-Dale. Hensman blasted the ball at Sarah Easthope who perhaps should’ve done better as the ball went in.
10 minutes later and the Rams extended the lead from the spot to take a 2-0 lead into the break. A foul by Easthope saw the referee point to the penalty spot where a cool Yeoman-Dale made no mistake, despite the Spartans keeper picking the right side.
Yeoman Dale then had her second in the 69th minute after pure persistence. Closing down her defender and then firing low into the bottom corner, she extended the Rams lead to 3-0.
The Spartans then cut the deficit down to two as Morgan Roberts capitalised on a mistake by Rams keeper Erin McAlisster to run around her and somehow stick a foot out to get the ball over the line with 15 minutes remaining.
Yeoman-Dale was all over the park and a fantastic run down the right saw her cross for Elisha Williams who tucked the ball home to make it 4-1 after a scramble in the 6-yard box in stoppage time.
