Breakout year for Devlin
What a year it has been for the Sutherland Sharks now Western Sydney Wanderers young gun Cameron Devlin.
This time last year Cameron was in England training with Ipswich FC as part of the Sutherland Sharks scholarship program.
He impressed them greatly and was "on fire" at the start of the year playing in 18’s.
Devlin quickly moved to the 20’s and even made his debut in the club’s senior squad, playing a total 4 games under former AIS and Australian Youth coach Steve O’Connor.
In O’Connor’s opinion, "This boy can see things others players can’t in a game."
All this time he was under the watchful eye of Trevor Morgan youth coach at the Western Sydney Wanderers.
Cameron’s year was not finished there as he also caught the of the Young Socceroos coach, Paul Okon.
He was impressed so much that he named Cameron in the Australian Under 19 squad for the AFC U/19 championship qualifiers in Laos.
Devlin joins other Shire players Alex Gersbach (Sydney FC), Jordan Holmes and Tommy Glover (Tottenham Hotspurs) who are also living the dream of representing their country.
