Five massive games take centre stage across round four in the PlayStation 4 NPL NSW Women’s.

Football NSW Institute V Emerging Jets

At Valentine Sports Park, it is a clash between the two academies as the Football NSW Institute take on the Emerging Jets.

It will be the third straight home game for the Institute as they look to register their first points of 2016.

Despite being left heart-broken in injury time last weekend, the Institute will take heart from the defeat and find many positives in their performance.

Ellie Carpenter was outstanding and is standing out as a true leader of this generation, along with Princess Ibini-Isei.

The Jets did very well last weekend, pushing the North West Syndey Koalas all the way. Having found the back of the net for the first time this season the team will look to build on that.

It will be a golden opportunity for the Jets to also get their first points of 2016.

Blacktown Spartans V Macarthur Rams

At Blacktown Football Park, the Blacktown Spartans will host the Macarthur Rams on Sunday afternoon.

The Spartans are one of four teams yet to taste defeat this season and currently sit in sixth place on the ladder.

Tara Pender and Logan Garard have found the back of the net in consecutive weeks and look like Paul Costantini’s team leaders.

The Rams will build their form slowly, as they did last season. Two tight, but important victories have put them in fourth place.

Captain, Renee Rollason scored her first goal of the season last week and with Leena Khamis already in solid form this season, the Rams rise up the ladder could continue.

Manly United V North West Sydney Koalas

A derby of sorts takes place at Cromer Park as Manly United welcome the North West Sydney Koalas.

United sit in eighth place on the ladder, without a point so far. Do not be fooled though, this team is one of great young talents that will shake this competition as their experience grows.

Gwynne Berry is building something special on the Northern Beaches and have slipped only in the second half, something the United coach will look to address.

The Koalas are enjoying life under the helm of Stephen Peters and have enjoyed a solid start to the season so far, propping up in fifth place.

They beat a spirited Jets outfit last week, having endured the tough trip up North and will now look to secure their second straight victory.

Marconi Stallions V Sydney University

At Marconi Stadium a massive clash will take place between the Marconi Stallions and Sydney University.

The Stallions have had a decent start to the season but coach Stephen Neligan will be expecting more from his team as they begin an assault on the finals places.

They fought hard last week but were missing the experienced head of Renee Tomkins. With Tomkins set to return, Heidi Makrillos finding her feet, Helen Petinos back in the squad and Matilda’s keeper Casey Dumont between the sticks, the Stallions will prove a stern test for the Champions.

The Champions had a week off with their match at the weekend being postponed, something coach Heather Garriock wouldn’t have been happy with, considering the form her team is in.

Nobody has been able to stop them this year and they look like favourites for the title, despite the season only being three rounds old.

North Shore Mariners V Illawarra Stingrays

Two high scoring teams clash at Northbridge Oval on Sunday as the North Shore Mariners entertain the Illawarra Stingrays.

Spencer Prior’s team shares top spot with the Stingrays and will hope to create a mini gap between the two with victory on Sunday.

Tiffany Paterson was on fire on Sunday, slamming home a hat-trick and the winning goals to send the Mariners on their way, she’ll be key for the red and whites.

A fantastic start for the Stingrays sees them on top of the pack, scoring goals for fun, racking up 11 already in just three games.

Michelle Carney, Jordan Baker and of course Matilda Michelle Heyman have been in blistering form, sending warning signs across the whole competition. They’ll be key for their team again this week.
