The North West Sydney Koalas last weekend pulled on their socks for the fifth year running in support of the McGrath Foundation at their home game against the North Shore Mariners at ELS Hall field.

The McGrath Foundation is a breast cancer support and education charity which raises money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and provides education to increase breast awareness with a particular emphasis on young women.

All NWS Koalas players purchased McGrath Foundation Pink Socks as part of the game day kit with funds from the sale of the socks going to the McGrath Foundation.

All Koalas supporters also stepped up with many dressing in pink to show their support.

The day also saw a bumper crowd attend and the action on the pitch didn’t disappoint with some fantastic football and the Koalas posting wins in both the reserve grade and first grade games.

The appearance on the pitch of North Shore Mariners star recruit and Matildas star Lisa De Vanna failed to rattle a determined Koalas first grade team who came away with the win and also helped move the Koalas to the top of the 2016 club championship.
