Valentine Sports Park was gripped with Westfield Matildas fever as Football NSW hosted the women’s national team on Wednesday evening.

It was a fun filled afternoon and evening that saw a number of key activations organised in light of the Westfield Matildas’ preparations for their upcoming trip to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in August.

Kicking off the Matildas event saw a special football session hosted by Football NSW coaches led by former Australian International Servet Uzunlar, as over 100 young enthusiastic female footballers from the Rouse Hill Rams and Kellyville Kolts SC got up close and personal with their favourite female football stars.

The Girls were in awe of the Matildas players who took the time in assisting with the various skills and drills on offer.

Soon after, it was bedlam, as the Matildas signed autographs and posed for photos with the star struck girls who will never forget what was a special evening for all involved.

Coaches and Technical staff from various Women’s PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW teams also took part in a Coach Education session where Australian women’s coach Alen Stajic amongst a number of other special guests took in the sights and sounds of the Matildas’ friendly match against the Emerging Jets Under 15s side.

Along with Football NSW Directors, Football Federation of Australia staff as well as Members of the Women’s Standing Committee, the evening was marked as a huge success with women’s football continuing its golden run in kicking goals on and off the pitch.
