Finals Series Round 2 Preview – PS4 NPL NSW Women’s
Only one game separates two sides vying for the PlayStation 4 NSW NPL Women’s grand final.
North West Sydney Koalas V Manly United
The biggest game of the season is on the line at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday afternoon as the North West Sydney Koalas and Manly United lock horns.
There are no more second chances as Sydney University lays in wait for the victor for next Sunday’s grand final.
The Koalas showed some heart on Sunday, throwing themselves back into the contest twice when it looked as they were down and out.
It wasn’t enough to guarantee their place in ‘the big one’ but they’ll have their opportunity to turn that around this week.
The two Nats, Penman and Tobin are key to this Koalas side, along with their top scorer Tara Andrews.
Manly is this seasons surprise team.
After the opening rounds of the season it seemed the young side would struggle with their more experienced opponents.
But they have grown into their own and become one of the competitions heavyweights, currently running on an outstanding 13 match unbeaten run.
They defeated last year’s grand finalists Macarthur Rams with minimal fuss last week to put them a step away from the grand final.
Individual battles will be key on Sunday afternoon, especially those between Manly’s centre back Bella Walker and Koalas’ striker Tara Andrews.
While on the other side of the pitch, Caitlin Campbell and Manly’s gun striker Remy Siemsen will do battle.
It has been tight between these two so far this season, the Koalas won back in round four when Manly was still finding their feet, 2-1.
In the second clash, they couldn’t be separated as Tara Andrews cancelled out a Claudia Cholakian opener.
It will be a match that will promise much with so much on the line for both teams.
RND 4 – Manly United 1-2 NWS Koalas
RND 13 – NWS Koalas 1-1 Manly United
