Rockdale City Suns is a family club that remembers its history and past players with some pride and are again doing so with the historic 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner in honour of their Grand Final win over Penrith Nepean in a tightly contested 1-nil win at Melita Stadium.

It was dogged determination that saw the team through that day and many of the playing and coaching staff will be attending to relive and reminisce about the final and the ‘old days’ in general and will be joined by old team mates and those from previous and present eras under the guise of football.

Sash Tirovski, who latterly enjoyed a spell with the club in the Premier League often playing through injury and pain for the cause, will be in attendance among many others.

It wasn’t the pinnacle of the club’s success to that point after forming in 1969, as a Premiership ‘double’ was achieved under Mile Todoroski in 2002, however deficiencies with ground approval after that win didn’t permit them to join the then NSW Premier League until a number of years later when massive improvements allowed for their inclusion to the top flight where they have successfully remained to this day.

There will also be many special awards going to those who have diligently served the club over the years and rightly deserve a special mention and, of course awards to all the players and the occasional speech from the captain and several of the team on that final and the camaraderie the club has built up from top to bottom from its formative years until modern times.
