Emin Rufati Tribute match ready to for kick-off
Mark down Saturday, February 25th in your football calendar as a special annual memorial and fundraising football match between St Ives FC and 3M has been confirmed to be played at Lindfield’s Charles Bean Oval with kick off scheduled for 3pm.
The match is in memory of Emin Rufati who sadly lost his life playing the game he loved during a football match with the main aim raising funds for defibrillator machines at sporting grounds as well as further highlighting health and safety awareness messaging.
Rufati played for St Ives FC while he worked for company 3M, both of which have shown a keen interest in this special fundraiser which will also feature former club players, work colleagues, family and friends attending and participating in this special match.
A Defib was certainly the saviour in early February when it saved the life of one of the club’s players – an example of how important it is to have a Defib on site!
Defib For Life’s Sue Buckman will be in attendance in further assisting in spreading the word, with many more people encouraged to take part in supporting with the day’s events.
