Granville and Bankstown join forces to strengthen competition

In a first for both Associations, Granville and Bankstown have joined forces this season to provide a competitive Premier competition that will see clubs from both areas compete in the 2017 Mitre Platinum League 2 kicking off on Saturday 1st of April.

Twelve (12) clubs will take part in a 16-round competition which will see the league kick off on the 1st of April and the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday 26th of August.

Granville & District Soccer Football Association CEO Mike Quarmby was elated with the decision in strengthening its ties with clubs from the Bankstown area, improving the quality of football within their major competition.

“It is great to see both our Associations working together to ensure the players participate in the strongest competitions available, so we are all excited with getting this off the ground on the 1st of April.”

Equally, Bankstown & District Soccer Football Association General Manager Shane Merry was also happy with the football association partnership.

“Mitre has seen the merits of our partnership and has agreed to sponsor this competition.

“Further to this, the clubs will be playing for the best and fairest and Golden Boot awards in what is sure to be a very competitive competition.”

·         Granville Kewpie Ariana

·         Greenacre Eagles

·         Merrylands SFC

·         Padstow United

·         Revesby Rovers FC

·         Sydney Dragons FC
