The weather is starting to cool down but the action in PS4 NPL 2 NSW Women’s heats up with four more vital fixtures to play out across the weekend included our Match of the Round: Inter Lions SC vs Nepean FC.

Match of the Round: Inter Lions SC vs Nepean FC, Sunday 28th May, 3pm, Concord Oval

Inter Lions host surprise packet thus far this season Nepean FC this weekend looking to get back on track.

It was contrasting fortunes for the two sides as Inter Lions lost 5-nil to Southern Branch while Nepean FC snapped Sutherland Shire’s streak 3-nil.

Jessica Elliott has been the star thus far for Nepean FC aided by a brace last weekend and will be a handful for the wounded Lions defense.

For the Lions – they will want to bounce back swiftly led by their forwards Maria Kalogeropoulos and Sarah Mandile against a buoyant Nepean FC.

Sutherland Shire FA vs Bankstown City Lions, Sunday 28th May, 3pm, Harrie Denning Centre

Fresh from their weeks break, Bankstown City Lions head to the Shire to combat Sutherland Shire FA coming off their first defeat.

The ladies from the Shire had their colours lowered against Nepean FC out in the west in a rare occasion where top scorer Jordan Baker was kept off the scoresheet.

Bankstown City Lions sit fourth after a string of good results before the bye and Troy Spink’s women face one of the tougher challenges of the season down at the Harrie Denning Centre.

This fixture boasts some of the best attacking threats in the competition in Raegan Deeley for the home side and Joanna Martino for Bankstown makes for a must watch game.

Gladesville Ravens vs Sydney Olympic FC, Sunday 28th May, 3pm, Peel Park

Sydney Olympic FC look to continue their hot form as they visit last placed Gladesville Ravens on Sunday afternoon.

The home side played in the most entertaining game of the round last weekend in a 3-3 draw while Gladesville went down to a clinical Marconi Stallions 2-nil.

Courtney Holmwood has been lethal in front of goal the last few weeks as Olympic have claimed seven points to close within two points of first.

Despite being rock bottom, Gladesville have been encouraged by their performances and with midfielder Celeste Loyzaga will provide a stern test for Sydney Olympic FC.

Central Coast Mariners vs Southern Branch FC, Sunday 28th May, 3pm, Pluim Park

The two farthest apart teams in the competition come together as Central Coast Mariners host Southern Branch at Pluim Park.

Southern Branch got off the mark in style with a 5-nil romp over Inter Lions SC while Mariners showed great spirit to come back in a 3-3 draw.

Georgina McDonnell rose to fourth in the goalscoring charts with her four goals which will make her a tough ask for the Mariners defense.

For Central Coast Mariners – they find themselves at the wrong end of the table and look at this weekend to start picking up some points.
