Hills Football Association recently hosted its first ever All Abilities Come & Try/Gala Day which proved to be an amazing event as over 120 players participated from across NSW at the Masonic Ovals in Baulkham Hills.

Participating Hills Football Association clubs such as Hills Knights, Kellyville Kolts, North Rocks, Rouse Hill Rams, Castle Hill United and Winston Hills Bears attended the event as well as teams from Balmain, Macarthur Magic, Randwick and even as far away as Hunter Valley took part in this memorable day.

Hills Football Association All Abilities Coordinator Eddie Palaci was delighted with the event as they celebrated its first ever All Abilities Gala Day.

“It was a huge turnout, we were very lucky to have such a beautiful day to showcase all the skills and smiles our players could deliver.

“The intent of this event is to create an opportunity for competitive games and also to provide an environment for those players who have never played before to participate in our wonderful sport.

“It’s extremely pleasing to note that we had 24 news players participate on the day.

“There was definitely a festive feel to the day, the Western Sydney Wanderers and Football NSW came along provide target practice games which where thoroughly enjoyed by all.

“From year to year this event and the work Hills Football is doing to support All Abilities is becoming recognised within the community and we were fortunate enough to have had Ray Williams, Minister for Multiculturalism and Minister for Disability Services attend and say a few words.

“I loved watching everyone thoroughly enjoy themselves and it’s a huge honour to represent the All Abilities community within the Hills Association, however events like ours required a huge amount of work and a huge thank you to Hills Knights for hosting the event all who helped make this such a wonderful event.”
