In 2013 after relegation from the PlayStation4 National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s competition, Gladesville Ravens embarked on a determined strategy to get the best from their State League campaign, with a view to rebuilding to return to the top tier.

Back then it was described by the Ravens Women’s Co-ordinator as a ‘Ravens Renaissance’.

Sandra Awondatu, a former Dutch international was appointed the Gladesville Ravens Technical Director, to work with the club to create the right structure through implementing the FFA’s new coaching curriculum.

With her wealth of experience, Sandra has since 2013 worked tirelessly to assist the Gladesville Ravens return to Premier League in 2017.

During this time, she also held the role of Technical Director for North West Sydney Women’s Football Association for a number of years.

After five years of continued growth and development, Gladesville Ravens now say farewell to Sandra who is moving on again internationally.

Sandra worked with the Gladesville Ravens WSL and NPL coaches and players to create successful teams, focussing on team and individual player development and a club culture that was also acknowledged for its fair play being awarded the FFA’s State Leagues Fair Play award (2014).

Sandra has also built the Ravens Development Squads, overseen the delivery of the Mighty Mites program and mentored our junior coaches.

As Technical Director she has supported Ravens with a technical structure and a strategy to strengthen  all facets of the club.

Gladesville Ravens thank for Sandra for her work and wish her the very best for her future endeavours.
