Summer Football surging in St George

St George FA has continued on from a hugely successful inaugural Summer football season in 2016; and has mirrored the trend across the state with substantial growth season to season with nearly 70 teams across the two venues playing the summer format in 2017.

“St George FA has seen an overall increase in players and teams for the 2017/18 summer football season, which is now running out of two centres and pleasingly we have had growth in the total number of female participants,” SGFA General Manager Craig Kiely explained.

A big reason for the surge in numbers has been a proactive approach by the Association in expanding its program offerings and venues, recently adding the Vanessa St Multi-Spot complex at Beverly Hills as a playing option for its Juniors.

“Its been great, everyone has been raving about the new centre at Beverly Hills”, SGFA Operations Coordinator, Daniel Thistleton promoted.

Football NSW Member Services Manager Matt Rippon echoed the sentiments of the SGFA, “St George is continuing its fantastic competition management and player growth from the winter season into the summer, it’s no doubt the local players clearly see both the benefit and fun with engaging with football all year round. The centre at Beverly Hills is ideal for the summer format and has been well utilized by the Association which they should be commended”.
