After a successful first season in the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition, the SD Raiders are after more of it in 2017.

They’ve appointed former Socceroo star Nick Carle to the helm as their head coach and are looking to make a statement in the forthcoming season.

On Sunday, the Raiders will play their first trial game of the season against NPL NSW Men giants APIA Leichhardt Tigers at Ernie Smith Reserve.

Not only will there be some fantastic football on display throughout the whole day but a dollar coin donation for entry will also go toward a great cause.

All the proceeds collected at the gate will go to the Fairfield Hospital.

The SD Raiders will also have a signed Western Sydney Wanderers and Milos Ninkovic Sydney FC Jersey to be auctioned off.

Gino Marra, club secretary of the SD Raiders has expressed his thanks to the APIA Leichhardt Tigers.

“We would like to thank Tony Raciti for assisting us.

“We will look to do the same for APIA next season at Lambert Park for their local charity.”

Marra has said this won’t be the end of the club’s work for the community and has announced further charity games.

“When we play APIA in the women’s competition this year, we will be donating those proceeds to the Liverpool Hospital.”
