Strathfield opens new centre with Summer Football

Football NSW was privileged to share the grand opening of their new synthetic playing grounds with Strathfield FC at Strathfield Park on Tuesday 13th of February.

The new synthetic surface, which was completed in October, saw its first official matches with their affiliated Summer Football program catering for both Junior and Senior players take centre stage.

Football NSW Game Development Officers joined Club Officials Davide Graniero and Rick Herro on the opening night and shared their enthusiasm and excitement for a program put together to maximise the playing opportunities of the new pitch as a lead up to the 2018 winter season; into a bigger and better 2018 Summer program.

“It’s more of a club competition due to the short period at which it is running like a trial run to learn the ins and outs”.

Graniero was quite happy with this result considering the club was just going to run senior competitions.

“With such an increased interest in social football we are hoping to reach bigger numbers to 300-400 participants for the 2018 season, branching out to not only our club but surrounds ones as well.”
