The Chinese Taipei Women’s National Team is calling Valentine Sports Park home for the next week as they prepare for various international matches via a special training camp that kicked off on Monday 26th of February at the home of Football NSW.

A squad of 21 players including eight staff members have made the trek to Glenwood where the team has thus far undergone some vigorous training drills, skills as well as sanctioned friendly matches against NPL NSW Women’s opponents including the North Shore Mariners, NWSW Koalas, Football NSW Institute, Sydney University as well as Sydney FC’s Under 14 and U15 Boys team.

Away from football, the national team will also watch Sydney FC’s Asian Champions League clash against Japanese giants Kawasaki Frontale as well sight see as part of their stay in Australia.

Football NSW CEO Stuart Hodge was impressed with the quality Chinese Taipei bought to Valentine Sports Park both on and off the park.

“It’s great to see the venue utilised by some of Asian football’s best teams for both the men and women, in this instance being a very talented Chinese Taipei Women’s National team.

“The players and coaching staff have been very respectful to everyone and we have been treated to some quality football action albeit via their training drills and friendly matches they’ve taken part in thus far.

“Since Australia’s involvement with the Asian Football Confederation, interests from both club and country teams wishing to use Valentine Sports Park as a training hub has risen and we hope to see more teams utilising this wonderful precinct during the 2018 season.”
