The 2018 Female Football Week campaign proved immensely influential across many of our clubs and associations in New South Wales, with players to coaches, referees and volunteers participating in the abundance of activations available throughout the week long celebration.
Over the weekend Football NSW in conjunction Football Federation Australia, held a female only C-Licence course at Valentine Sports Park. The course which was held over three days (9th – 11th of March) included 12 coaches from all across New South Wales, who were enthusiastic about improving their coaching knowledge, skills and overall practical application.
The course was facilitated by Debbie Fisher, a individual with exponential experience not only as a coach but as a educator, and is currently the Girls Youth Development Manager at FFA.
The group were able to absorb the activities which were being held at Valentine Sports Park in conjunction with their course, which included observing the Chinese Taipei National Team train and participate in skills sessions during their stay at the facility.
Football NSW was also provided a $200 subsidy towards the overall cost of the course to all 12 coaches who were involved in the female only c-licence, in addition with Female Football Week festivities.
Participant Susan O’Hara, from Terrigal United Football Club, was very complimentary about the C-Licence
“I could not be happier that I chose to enrol in this course, the opportunity to be a part of a female-only C-Licence provided the ultimate environment for us to learn and feel free to express our thoughts and ideas. Facilitator Debbie Fisher has an amazing ability to connect with people and she instructed us in a creative yet functional and realistic way. I’ve gained more confidence to develop my coaching sessions in new and different ways, which will be of great benefit to our squad, and I’m very excited to be a part of that” concluded O’Hara.
