Dynamic Duo for ALDI MiniRoos Gala Day

Two is always better than one, and the for the Sutherland Shire Football Associations & St. George Football Association this case been the case for some time with their collaborative ALDI Miniroos Gala Days.

The San Souci & Gymea United Football Association have been organising MiniRoos gala days for numerous years, with the 2019 dates already being locked in after another successful year.

This year the association’s decided to use two locations for the numerous age groups, with the Under 6’s MiniRoos taking over Gymea Bay Oval, while the Under 7’s took their gala day across the bridge to Claydon Reserve.

The Miniroos gala days are considered as a fantastic opportunity by both clubs/associations to enhance participants football skills as well as other fundamental aspects of their game. The gala day allows for the players, coaches and managers to make new friends, trade techniques and tactics, whilst creating the familiarity and routine for parents before the commencement of the season.

While in the aspect of inclusion the gala days also presents a good opportunity for new MiniRoos Referees to get some practice in before the season starts. This years’ gala day allowed for a mentoring program between officials, with more experienced referees educating the younger and newer individuals,.

Overall the children had a wonderful day, meeting new friends, learning new skills all in perfect timing. with the new season about to kick off
