Nicholas Paras: St George FC’s very own Chiropractor

NICO-CHIRO-SAINTS-PLAYER

St George FC’s Nicholas Paras has the unusual mantle of being the club’s chiropractor whilst also being a member of the first-grade squad, currently riding high in second spot on the National Premier Leagues 2 NSW ladder.

Paras is a Saints junior, whose football career commenced in the St George district with Hurstville Glory before moving to the St George youth grade squads from the Under 11s.

Most recently at the Bankstown Berries, prior to his move back “home” before the start of the 2017 season, Paras has combined his football duties with that of completing a chiropractic degree at Macquarie University, a task completed last year, with “Nico” graduating with a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Masters of Chiropractic.

Renowned as a set piece specialist, both at the Berries and St George, Paras knocked in a tally of seven goals last season in all competitions, a rate of a goal approximately every three games, a not unreasonable strike rate for a midfielder.

With one eye on his career outside of football, Dr Paras, to give his more formal title, has the enviable job of also ensuring that the youth players of St George, concentrating on the 13 to 16s squads, are provided with the expert knowledge of the recently graduated chiropractor.

With Paras tasked with looking after the welfare of the Saints’ young guns, while helping the first team to challenge for the title, it will be a very busy, and football focussed, 2018.

Outside of the football world, Paras can be seen working at Macquarie Place Chiropractic Centre in Mortdale, so if you are nearby, pop in and say “Hi”…
