Football NSW today announced the appointment of Warren Grieve as the Technical Director – Men’s and Boys’ Football.

Grieve joins Football NSW from Manly United where he is the Technical Director.

Previously, Warren was Technical Director for Capital Football and has held coach development positions within Football West.

Grieve holds an FFA AFC Professional Diploma and is accredited to deliver A, B and C Licences.

Football NSW CEO Stuart Hodge believes the appointment of Grieve is vital in continuing to assist the development coaches and players across NSW.

“We received a large volume of quality applications including international candidates.

“We felt that Warren’s blend of experience from having been a State Technical Director and working at one of our NPL NSW clubs as well as at an Association, gave him tremendous experience and understanding of our landscape.

“We were impressed by Warren’s passion for the game and his commitment to developing as a coach educator.”

The 39-year-old was eagerly anticipating the new challenges that lay ahead in his new role at Football NSW.

“It is fantastic to be on board with Football NSW and I am really looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

“My passion and drive comes from the love of the game.

“From playing to coaching I wake up every day living and breathing football.

“I see it as a privilege and an honour to have thus far been a career coach for over 17 years and this is an ideal opportunity to work with the largest State Member Federation in Australia.

“I understand that the road is long but working with the football community I can make a positive impact in this role.”

Warren will commence his duties as Football NSW in August.
