NSW Dominates Under 19 Australian Schoolboys Selections

The 19 Years and Under Boys Tri-State Tournament was played last Thursday and Friday at Valentine Sports Park. Queensland and ACT schools were represented, as well as two NSW All Schools teams.

The tournament was won by NSW “Blue”. This team played excellent football throughout the two days, scoring 16 goals in three games and not conceding one. An indication of their dominance was the defeat of second-placed Queensland 6-0 in their final game. It was no surprise when seventeen of the eighteen players selected in the Under 19 Australian Schoolboys squad came from NSW. The Australian squad will tour the United Kingdom in January 2019.

The Player of the Tournament was Dean Pelekanos (NSW “Blue”), a student from The Hills Sports High School.
