Following on from a record-breaking year, the 2019 Sportscover Clubbies Awards are back to celebrate the unsung heroes of Australian grassroots sport.
With total prizes valued at more than $10,000 AND an expanded eight categories to choose from, there are even more ways to recognise the tireless volunteers who keep local sport humming.
Now entering its fourth year, Inside Sport’s community-based awards are open for nominations in the following categories:
Best Club
Best Coach
Best Stalwart
Best Sports Association
Best Masters Performance
Best Administrator
Best Facility
AND new for 2019
Best Use of Media
Organisers are determined to build on last year’s success when more than 1100 nominations were submitted, covering 60 sports from every Australian state and mainland territory.
To achieve that, Clubbies has again united with presenting partner Sportscover and the Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS), which represents 90 national sporting organisations.
CAS president and CEO, Rob Bradley said, “The Clubbies is not about the coach with the most wins or the club which claims the most premierships. Clubbies is about rewarding the dedication, integrity and sportsmanship of those who put their heart and souls into community sport.”
Supporting community sport was an easy decision said Sportscover Australia Chief Executive, Simon Allatson.
“All of our people have been, or are, involved in sport at club level. Those who give up so much of their time to ensure Australians, young and old, have the opportunity to participate in their preferred sport, are deserving of recognition. The Clubbies Awards enable us to say ‘thank you’.”

Inside Sport editor Jeff Centenera said, “When we started The Clubbies three years ago we were eager to tell some of the wonderful and inspiring stories that come out of grassroots sport. That hasn’t changed, and we’re looking forward to the outstanding clubs and club-people that emerge again.”
Entries close on December 19, 2018
The public will vote on a shortlist of finalists before winners are announced in April, 2019.
