Football New South Wales Spectacular Involvement

The iconic cultural event of the annual Schools Spectacular and accompanying SpecFest came to life last weekend, with Football NSW present at the 2018 event in the year of ‘The Greatest.’

The event which showcases public school’s within the state of NSW took place from Friday the 23rd to Saturday the 24th of November 2018 at Qudos Bank Arena, with over 3000 performers present at this years event.

Football NSW were in attendance at this year’s showcase of talent, facilitating small sided games, activation’s and more notably hosting the ALDI MiniRoos Shooting Target for participants to engage with during their time within Sydney Olympic Park.

In conjunction with the numerous activation’s within SpecFest, Football NSW Development Officer’s Kevin Amaya & Trudy Burke were also generous with participants involved over the two days with numerous prizes available for performers including FNSW exclusive stickers & wristbands, as well as the popular MatchAttax Football Cards.

Lachlan Stubley from the NSW Department of Education was pleased with the feedback from the activations which were supplied and run, throughout the event.

While Development Officer Kevin Guardado Amaya was pleased to see many of the performers swap the stage for the pitch, it what was a momentous few days for the students.

“It was great to see so many young and talented singers, dancers, musicians and performers give football a go and show off their skills off the stage.”

Over the course of the event, the Schools Spectacular had over 5,500 participants engaged in this years’ Sydney event, which saw children, teachers, parents and volunteers from all over the state unite to participate in one of Australia’s most iconic school based events.
