Socceroos Legend To Visit VSP To Develop The Next Generation Of Goalkeeper coaches

February 2019 will see former Socceroos Goalkeeping Coach and current FFA Head Of Goalkeeping Tony Franken visit Valentine Sports Park to run an AFC/FFA Level 1 Goalkeeping Course.

Franken was a part of the Socceroos coaching staff for 4 successive FIFA World Cup Finals and worked with Socceroos goalkeeping legends from Mark Schwarzer right through to current Brighton & Hove Albion number one Mat Ryan.

The AFC/FFA Level 1 Goalkeeping Course sets out to educate coaches to apply the National Curriculum holistically to develop State League, NPL, NYL & State Representative teams.

NPL top tier and NPL2 Senior Men’s teams as part of the 2019 Football New South Wales NPL Competition Regulations have to have their goalkeeper coaches accredited with the AFC/FFA Level 1 Goalkeeping Licence.

The dates of the course are:

• Monday 18^th February – 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Tuesday 19^th February – 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Wednesday 20^th February – 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Thursday 21^st February – 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Friday 22^nd February – 9:00am – 4:00pm

All dates of the course are compulsory and must be attended and coaches must have completed part 1 of an FFA/AFC C Licence Coaching Course.

For those coaches that haven’t completed part 1 of an FFA/AFC C Licence Coaching Course this Football NSW will be hosting the below courses before the AFC/FFA Level 1 Goalkeeping course for coaches to complete on the below dates:

• Saturday 9^th February – 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Sunday 10th February – 9:00am – 4:00pm
