Small Sided Girls initiative to launch in Bankstown

Bankstown Districts Amateur Football Association are set to embark on an exciting journey for the 2019 grassroots season with the announcement of its new initiative to promote girls football within the region.  

BDAFA have established a Girls-only Small Sided Games football starting with the Under 6’s and 7’s competitions which will run concurrently with the associations existing SSG competition.

With the on-going success of the Matildas, girls football is rapidly growing and BDAFA is looking forward to working with its local grassroots member clubs to help accelerate this growth in 2019.

The hope is with the establishment of these competitions, over the coming years, BDAFA will be able to provide Girls-only competitions across all SSG ages, complementing its existing Youth & Ladies competition structures.

BDAFA also announced that in an effort to help this growth, the association have committed to providing a rebate of $50 per player registered to a Girls-only SSG team in 2019. The rebate will be provided to local clubs which participate in this competition.
