Football NSW has welcomed The Hon. John Sidoti to his new role as Minister for Sport.

“Football as the largest sport in NSW looks forward to working with the State Government and Minister Sidoti over the next four years,” commented Football NSW CEO Stuart Hodge.

“We will work closely with the State Government on a number of key initiatives, including reducing obesity (one of the Premier’s priorities) in NSW through initiatives such as Walking Football and further investment into grassroots football facilities.”

Our recent state-wide facilities audit has shown continued investment into facilities is vital for the sport to survive.

Mr Hodge continued, “With our current participation numbers and our projected annual growth rates, we predict that over the next 15 to 20 years football will require an additional 700 full sized pitches across NSW to cope with demand.”

Football NSW wishes Minister John Sidoti all the best in his first term as Minister for Sport.
