Back and bigger than ever, Football NSW launches Female Football Week 2019 in celebration of all things Female

Female Football Week is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the immense growth of women’s football at all levels of the game, and acknowledge and promote the important role women play in developing football. In 2019 Female Football Week will run from May 25th – June 2nd in the lead up to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Football NSW kicked-off the week long festivities with a Coaching Female Football workshop, which took placed at Valentine Sports Park overnight. Over 100 enthusiastic coaches braved the crisp conditions for this exclusive opportunity, which comprised of an on-field session run by Leah Blayney, followed by a panel discussion with the likes of Football NSW Women & Girls Technical Director Brian Dene and Western Sydney Wanderers W-League assistant Catherine Cannuli.

The remaining festivities will take place during Round 12 & 13 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s & Women’s competitions, with many clubs using the week to celebrate the upcoming talent within Girls Skills Acquisition Programs (GSAP) as well as grassroots football.
