Southern Districts celebrate Female Football Week

SDSFA-FFW-Group-3

Female Football Week was alive and well as over 200 female players attended the event from across the Southern Districts Soccer FA and SD Raiders teams with Ultimate Soccer  precinct in Fairfield booking out all 7 of their pitches for the event.

SD Raiders Female Players from Under 14’s and up were active both as players themselves and role models for the younger ALDI MiniRoos aged girls from local clubs and the ALDI MiniRoos Kick-Off For Girls program which includes girls under the age of 7 playing for the first time.

Activities included small sided games, inflatable shooting targets, recording shots with a speed gun, football volleyball and various skill stations.

Southern Districts Soccer Football Association women’s Technical Director Catherine Cannuli was appreciative of the many sponsors that assisted with their Female Football Week activations.

“We would like to thank Ultimate Soccer for providing the venue.

“Our sponsor OPORTO for offering free hydration for all the kids and plenty of giveaways.

“Western Sydney Wanderers for providing their dribble zone and donating equipment for the event.

“Football NSW for providing the ALDI MiniRoos Shooting Target and being a wonderful support of Female Football Week.“

Football NSW would like to congratulate Southern Districts FA and Catherine Cannuli on their continuous support of Female Football in their footprint which was emphasised by another great turnout and amazing event for young females to celebrate their love for football.
