George Bass Special School held a memorable Gala Day on Friday 13th of September where over 100 students from several schools participated in a great day for football.

Each year George Bass Special School run this specific Gala Day within the school grounds as football matches are played, followed by presentations and a BBQ to end the festivities.

Broderick Gillawarna School, Caroline Chisholm School, Chalmers Road School, Halinda School, Mainsbridge School and Mary Brooksbank School all attended the event.

Football NSW was on hand to assist with the day’s proceedings and officiated matches across four fields in what was a well run event thanks to the organisational skills of George Bass Special School Assistant Principal Elizabeth Moore and class teacher Pamela Huynh.

Huynh in particular, praised Football NSW and its efforts in ensuring support was given and shown by the governing body.

“Football NSW have generously supported our Gala Day year after year.

“One of the highlights of this year was seeing how well your staff members interacted with all of the students.

“I loved seeing the joy on the kids’ faces when they recognised the refs that they had seen last year.”
