Campbelltown Quake v Mountain Majik

It’s showtime as Campbelltown Quake and Mountain Majik reignite their rivalry at Minto Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Campbelltown were terrific in a 4-1 defeat of Boomerangs in last weekend’s opening round while Mountain were pushed all the way in a 2-2 draw with Hakoah, but it’s the recent history between Quake and Majik that’s sure to be on everyone’s minds.

The Mountaineers dumped Campbelltown in last summer’s semi-finals 3-2 that also gave them an overall edge in their head-to-head count 5-4 (two draws), so expect fireworks at Minto this Saturday – the last meeting at this venue finished a fiery 3-3.

Boomerangs FS v Inner West Magic

Boomerangs FS have it all to do in their match-up with wounded Inner West Magic at the AIS Training Halls on Saturday afternoon.

Inner West were blasted off the court 7-2 by Mascot in round one to abruptly end their 22-match winning sequence – also their first league loss at Valentine since the 2016/17 grand final – and they’ve only lost back-to-back games once in the past five years.

Boomerangs fell to Campbelltown 4-1 and are yet to beat Magic in six premier league encounters, but a narrow 0-1 loss to Inner West in their last meeting at the Training Halls in January 2017 followed 2-2 and 5-5 draws to show they have real character in this fixture.

Eastern Suburbs Hakoah v UTS Northside

Batten down the hatches as Eastern Suburbs Hakoah host UTS Northside in a pivotal match for both sides at All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday evening.

UTS enjoyed a 6-2 romp over Enfield last start while Hakoah were terrific value in their 2-2 draw with the Mountaineers to suggest this will be an evenly-matched affair, particularly as the two sides traded wins last summer.

Mascot Vipers Enfield Allstars

Mascot Vipers will hope to build on their exciting summer start when they face Enfield Allstars at the Morris Iemma Indoor Centre on Saturday night.

Mascot are soaring high after bringing down the champs Inner West 7-2 and blast out of the campaign blocks, and they’ll be relishing playing an Enfield side that’s finished bottom-two on the ladder three seasons running.

Fascinatingly, Allstars hold a massive lead in their head-to-head battle winning eight of the past 13 Vipers runs (plus two draws), including winning both of last summer’s fixtures.

Despite a difference where the teams currently sit, the past three games were all one-goal affairs and followed a 2-2 draw, so this could be interesting.
