South Coast Police District Dolphins ready for National Indigenous Football Championships

One team hoping to do well at the upcoming National Indigenous Football Championships held at South Nowra Football Complex is the South Coast Police District Dolphins.

Returning for its second successive year in the popular tournament held in the South Coast, the Dolphins are hoping that they can claim the silverware when the tournament concludes on Saturday 2nd of November.

The Dolphins were formed ten years ago and not only compete in National Indigenous Football Championships but also in matches against The Royal Australian Navy, NSW Fire Brigade, Corrective Services and an annual game against the Lake Illawarra Police District for the Steve Johnson Memorial Shield where money raised from this event goes towards Beyond Blue.

The squad is made up of current serving and retired Police Officers from all areas of Policing including General Duties, Highway Patrol, Proactive Crime Team and Detectives.

The National Indigenous Football Championships kick off on Wednesday 30th of October and will conclude on Saturday 2nd of November.
