We’re back to the full slate of games for the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Mens competition! It comes with a bang as well with four exciting contests to play out across Saturday which will help to determine the configuration of the ladder come seasons end.

Match of the Round: Dural Warriors vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 2 November, 4:50pm, The Centre – Dural

Dural Warriors return to action with a mouth-watering contest against a surging Sydney City Eagles for this weekend’s Match of the Round at The Centre – Dural.

After a fortnight break due to AFF Futsal Championship action, Dural Warriors return with a busy November with seven games to be completed. Despite their break, Warriors after their stellar start to the season sit in equal first with this week’s opponent.

The Eagles have soared into the top four with some impressive showings in recent weeks. Their 7-3 success against Sydney Futsal Club made it three straight victories and teed up a wonderful contest for Saturday afternoon.

Across the court there will be goal scorers for both sides. The Giovenali brothers for Dural will lead the way alongside Carlos De Oliveira as threats. For the Eagles, Matthew Trotter and Lachlan Rose pose the biggest threat especially coming off their Futsal Cup win against the Quake.

West City Crusaders vs South Coast Taipans, Saturday 2 November, 5:50pm, Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium

The top four South Coast Taipans make the trip across the city to do battle with West City Crusaders out at Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium on Saturday night.

Taipans showed heart in a last-minute 3-3 draw against Raiders Futsal Club in last weekend’s Match of the Round to remain in third position. Crusaders were also forced to share the spoils after a tense 2-2 draw against Phoenix Futsal Club.

Crusaders were short-handed but put in a dogged effort to take that point – their first since the win against Sydney Futsal Club in September. Back at full strength, they will be a good test for the Taipans as the Crusaders try to move back up the ladder.

For the visitors, Bobby Mazevski will want his side to arrest their second half slides which has seen them drop five points in the last fortnight. The combination between Klime Sekutkoski and Rick Goodchild continues to prove profitable and is their best route to victory on the weekend.

Raiders Futsal Club vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 2 November, 6:40pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Two sides looking to get themselves in the win column clash at Thomas Hassell Anglican College as Raiders Futsal Club host the winless Phoenix Futsal Club this weekend.

Both sides are coming off shared results – Raiders Futsal Club battled hard in a 3-3 draw against one of the top contenders in South Coast Taipans. Phoenix continue to dwell in eighth after a 2-2 draw against Crusaders Saturday.

The search goes on for Phoenix Futsal Club for their first three points of the season. They have toiled hard at times, even holding leads but need to turn these performances into points. Angus Chance got himself back on the scoresheet last weekend and alongside Jordan Smylie are their best threats to get over the hump.

Raiders Futsal are making steady progress. They are apart of the pack in the top four that is breaking away from the middle. In Adolph Koudakpo and Adam Voloder, Raiders can continue their upward trend on Saturday night.

Sydney Futsal Club vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 2 November, 7:20pm, All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre

Fifth place SD Raiders Futsal Club head down to All Sorts Indoor Sport Centre to take on a struggling Sydney Futsal Club on Saturday night.

Coming off a break, SD Raiders Futsal will be refreshed to try and get themselves back in the top four hunt. They face a Sydney Futsal Club coming off a 7-3 loss to the rampaging Sydney City Eagles and looking for their first win of the year.

SD Raiders Futsal head into this away fixture in form with back-to-back successes which has them four points outside the finals. Five seems to the magic number for SD Raiders this year – both of their wins had them hit that mark – so that is what they hope to do again to keep the streak alive.

Last week Sydney got themselves back to 4-3 but were blown away late by the Eagles. That has been the story of their season – competing well against teams but not being able to get the points. If they can put together a full 50 minutes, they can claim the scalp of SD Raiders Futsal.
