Football NSW held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in respect of the financial year ended 31 October 2019 on Friday, 20 March 2020.

With COVID-19 impacting the entire nation and world, the Annual General Meeting was held in difficult circumstances with members having had the opportunity to vote both in person and online.

During the meeting, Morris Iemma, Fiona Lang and Stephen Loader were elected to the Board of Football NSW for three-year terms.  Football NSW wishes to congratulate all three candidates on their election.

Football NSW welcomed Morris and Stephen as new directors on the Board.  Fiona was previously an Appointed Director and has now been elected as an Elected Director.

All three candidates come with some pedigree.

Morris was of course the former Premier of NSW, Fiona leads BBC Studios as the General Manager for the Australasian region while Stephen has worked in sport for the last 25 years in Australia and abroad on the Board of a number of sporting organisations.

A resolution to make some minor amendments to the Football NSW Constitution was also approved by the Members.

The AGM marked the retirement of two Directors; Jeanette Jones and Rob Laws.

Both Jeanette and Rob have been invaluable members of the Board and have contributed significantly during their time on the Board – in Jeanette’s case, over a period of eight years, and in Rob’s case, over a period of four years.

During that time, Rob was Deputy Chairman and provided Chairman Anter Isaac with significant assistance.

Both Jeanette and Rob have been particularly strong advocates of the women’s game and Football NSW takes this opportunity to thank both Jeanette and Rob for their contribution to the board.
