Dubbo’s Apex Oval on Wednesday played host to the John Moriarty Coaching Expo for Advanced and Community Coaches in conjunction with Football NSW as over 30 local coaches took part in what was a positive experience for all involved.

Conducted during the week-long John Moriarty Football clinics in Dubbo, Football NSW had the pleasure of assisting in the Expo Workshop which included coaches from the John Moriarty Foundation, Western NSW, Dubbo District Football Association and surrounding areas.

The Football NSW Coaching team of Technical Director Warren Grieve, Player Development Manager Drew Taylor and Regional Development Manager Andrew Fearnley all played instrumental roles in putting this informative Expo together.

Fearnley in particular was delighted with how the Expo unfolded.

“It was a great opportunity for these coaches to see both Warren and Drew conduct these seminars as well as challenge their thinking.

“It also provided a great opportunity for both Warren and Drew to engage with these coaches at the forefront of regional football in addition to supporting the John Moriarty Staff.”

Grieve equally was happy to have been involved and was looking forward to more of these regional Expos during the course of the year.

“Extending opportunities to regional NSW has been a focus point for the technical department – this is our fourth regional event this year.

“It is hoped that this event will act as a catalyst for further events in the region and a possible ‘C’ licence before the end of the year.”

The Expo itself involved interactive theory on the Domains of understanding as well as a practical demonstration using local Dubbo District Football Representative players.

Following this Expo, Advanced coaches were able to obtain 10 CPD points for taking part with the hope of more organised in the not too distant future.
