The stage is set as the Nepean Football Association prepares for what will be a big year for the sport as registrations have commenced for the 2021 Grassroots season.

With 31 clubs within the Nepean FA area, there’s plenty of quality teams to choose from when registering for the new year.

Nepean FA’s long serving CEO Linda Cerone was eagerly anticipating the commencement of the competition and looked forward to a huge 2021 season.

“Nepean Football Association’s clubs are looking forward to an exciting 2021.

“We love delivering football activities to our membership in whatever format that means for them.  We provide activities starting with MiniRoos Kick Off Programs for players aged 3-5, Club football for MiniRoos aged 5 to 11 and competitions for girls and boys and men and women aged 12 and above.”

“If it’s extra training you want, Junior players can take part in our Academy program or School Holiday programs offered throughout the district.”

It’s not only the players that Cerone stated that are registering for the 2021 season but it’s a drive for getting more referees on board.

“We also provide opportunities for those who wish to pursue a pastime or career as a football referee though out Referees group.  The Nepean Referees Group provide amazing and ongoing support and training for referees of all levels and welcome enquiries from new members throughout the year, but especially so at the start of each season.”

There will are two major highlights the well-respected administrator highlighted that will make the 2021 season even more enjoyable.

“We’re looking forward to two major highlights in 2021.

“In our competitions, we’ll be launching our Men’s Waratah League, replacing our previous Premier League as the pinnacle men’s competition in Nepean FA and the introduction of our Women’s Premier Ruby League.

“We’re looking forward to our district getting behind these two competitions and coming to watch as many games as possible to see the best that Women’s and Men’s football has to offer in our district.

“Our other major highlight will be the opening (expected in late April 2021) of the first two synthetic pitches in our district.  We’re excited to see what possibilities these pitches open up for our football community.”
