We enter the final fortnight of an entertaining Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s competition and there is still plenty left to play for. There are four fabulous games to enjoy across Saturday which may help to confirm the top four. Let’s get onto the preview!

SD Raiders Futsal vs Boomerangs FS, Saturday 3 December, 4:10pm, Fairfield Youth and Community Centre

Starting off the weekend is leaders SD Raiders Futsal taking on Boomerangs FS at Fairfield Youth and Community Centre.

The hosts will be flying into this game after their 7-6 comeback win against West City Crusaders at PCYC Hawkesbury last Saturday. SD Raiders Futsal have rediscovered the clinical form which saw them soar to the top of the league and they will want to make it four straight on Saturday.

Boomerangs FS sit in the vital fourth and final spot on the FPL2 Open Men’s ladder and look like they will hold onto it after their 3-3 draw over nearest challengers Taipans. Coach Nick Van Aalst will want them to bring the same energy and possibly take a big win before the finals.

Sydney City Eagles vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 3 December, 5:10pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Sydney City Eagles welcome West City Crusaders to Thomas Hassell Anglican College for an important game on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles showed off their resillence in their 3-2 win against Sydney Futsal Club in their Match of the Round game last week. They will want to shore up their defence which will allow them to pile in the goals up front.

West City Crusaders were disappointed that they threw away their 4-1 lead in their 7-6 loss to SD Raiders Futsal at home last week. Kurt Elborough and Ryan Faulkner have been consistent performers for the side and look to help cause an upset on Saturday.

Sydney Futsal Club vs Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 3 December, 5:20pm, NC of Indigenous Excellence

Third place Raiders Futsal Club head over to face Sydney Futsal Club at NC of Indigenous Excellence on Saturday afternoon.

Sydney Futsal Club took a lot of heart from their 3-2 loss to the Eagles and it gave them a glimpse into their future with some of the performances from the youngsters. Arsallan Mangal and Andrew Ferrara were standouts in that game and look to repeat the dose again.

Sat in third place, Raiders Futsal Club look set for the finals and will use the last fortnight to help them tune up for their semi-final contest. Goran Ljuboja has scored in his last two games and will want to make it three straight on Saturday.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs South Coast Taipans, Saturday 3 December, 6:10pm, The Centre – Dural

Rounding off the weekend is Phoenix Futsal Club hosting South Coast Taipans at The Centre – Dural on Saturday night.

Phoenix Futsal Club played to their potential in their 5-2 win against Raiders Futsal Club away from home last weekend and look to finish the year on a high in the next fortnight. Jordan Smylie is also in contention for the Golden Boot with his 20 goals and aim to add to his tally.

For South Coast Taipans, they will need to win their last two games and hope Boomerangs FS don’t pick up more than a point to feature in the finals. One of the keys to that will be the work and leadership of Matthew Mazevski on their trip to Dural.
