Central Coast United grabbed a much needed first win of the season over Dulwich Hill courtesy of a dominant second half performance at Pluim Park.

The first half saw both sides have a penalty at either end. Dulwich Hill converting theirs through Daniel Fornito after Mark Younes was brought down in the area. While the hosts missed a chance of their own with Jerome Narayan saving down to his right to deny Daniel Mcfarlane.

With the game opening up in the second half, Central Coast United were more in their element scoring their first six minutes into the half through Luke Corcoran. Cocoran with a great finish from a right sided position outside the area.

Blacktown Spartans FC 1 (William DiMartino 93’) v Bankstown City FC 1 (James Mckenzie 2’)

In rainy conditions early, the visitors took an early lead from an Ante Tomic set-piece. Tomic’s ball in causing chaos in the penalty box before James Mckenzie duly obliged with a thumping header past the keeper.

Spartans’ keeper Michael Figueira also playing a key role in the opening half with some good saves to deny the visitors a second. While Jovan Blagojevic had two great chances in the first half.

Despite trailing, the Spartans were having plenty of joy with balls in behind their visitor’s defense which led to a late red card, Daniel Bakrdanikoski given his marching orders for a challenge just outside the area.

As such, the second half started as you would expect with the hosts trying to unlock their visitors defense and the rare counter coming at the other end. Matthew Moric having the chance to stretch the lead to two ten minutes into the half.

However, the Spartans needed to be patient against their visitors with William Di Martino equalising in the final minute of regulation in spectacular style from well outside the area, his strike flying into the top left facing corner.
