The wait was finally over as the 2023 Futsal Schools Championships kicked off for the new year as the Stanhope Leisure Centre played host to the opening region, Blacktown, where over 23 different schools took part.

Overall, 65 teams participated with schools across the Blacktown region with age groups ranging from the Under 14 Boys and Girls to the Opens teams, all of which put on a fine display promoting Futsal.

“It was fantastic to get the year up and running once more with the running of yet another successful Futsal Schools Championships,” said Football NSW’s Community Clubs and Centres Coordinator Jamie Dib.

“The action was fierce as all schools gave it their all in being crowned Champions of their age group.

“We are really looking forward to what will be a massive year ahead as we build towards the State Championships in September.”
