Stand United is back thanks to Multicultural NSW.

Delivered in an online format, Football NSW continues its partnership Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra (MCCI) to deliver cultural awareness and diversity training with the aim of creating a more inclusive sporting community.

The Workshops are open to all players, coaches, referees, volunteers, parents, and administrators from any Club and or Association.

Upon completing the workshop, all ‘Stand United Champions’ will receive a polo, clipboard, in addition to useful resources and support to help share the central messages.

Football NSW will also be encouraging Clubs and Associations to take the ‘Stand United pledge’ off the back of a completed workshop. By taking the pledge, Clubs and Associations will receive Stand United signage, customised digital flyers and giveaways to help promote a message of inclusion and anti-discrimination.

The topic areas covered in the workshops include:

  • The importance of cultural diversity reflective in Australia
  • Cultural values, beliefs, and stereotypes
  • Tackling racism in sport
  • Effective communication
  • Understanding bias
  • Cultural intelligence
  • FNSW Inclusive programs and initiatives

The MCCI is a non-profit charity that supports people and communities from culturally and linguistically (CALD) diverse backgrounds in the Illawarra/Shoalhaven, and ACT/Queanbeyan regions. MCCI will be co-delivering the Stand United workshops with Football NSW staff.

Register now for any of the five sessions available.

All sessions run from 7:00 – 9:00pm.
