It will be a year like no other for the girls and women’s game as Football NSW prepares to launch the 2023 Female Football Week (FFW) set to take place from the 19th – 28th of May.

FFW celebrates the contributions of female players, coaches, referees, administrators, and volunteers, all of whom have played a pivotal role in the development of the women’s game.

In 2022, Football NSW delivered its largest ever FFW with 35 registered activations incorporating over 9,700 participants.

As part of this year’s celebrations, Football NSW is calling for Female Football Champion nominations and is encouraging as many Clubs and / or Associations as possible to register FFW events.

FF CHAMPION NOMINATIONS

REGISTER AN EVENT

Any registered participants are encouraged to nominate a Female Champion who they believe deserves recognition for their contribution to the female game. Successful entries will be celebrated across Football NSW’s channels, with one from each category also being nominated for the National Female Football Week Awards. Nominations are open for Female Football Champions across the Player, Coach, Referee, Volunteer and Ally categories.

Clubs and Associations wishing to activate for FFW are asked to register their event via the Football NSW FFW webpage to ensure access to promotional support and digital resources, while helping to ensure a new FFW record is achieved in 2023.

“In what is set to be one of the biggest years yet for Australian football, we are excited about what we can achieve for Female Football Week in 2023,” said Football NSW’s Schools, Women’s and Girls Coordinator Kristen Prior.

“The primary objective of the campaign is to drive female participation at all levels of the game and we’re hoping to see as many localised activations as possible across the community to break more records this year.”

2023 Female Football Week falls just two months short of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™. An initiative which Football NSW first pioneered in 2014, Female Football Week has now become a nationwide celebration of females across all aspects of the game with strong signs suggesting more positive records are set to be broken in 2023.
