Football NSW recently hosted the first intake of 14 female coaches across seven associations as part of the first stage of a three-piece workshop designed to become a Coach Developer at Valentine Sports Park.

Delivered by Football NSW presenters Sam McGowan and Pete Nowakowski, the aim of these workshops is to provide an overview of community football course outlines as well as understanding learning styles and delivery methods.

These coaches will then be continuously mentored throughout the duration of the course and beyond.

“We currently have a huge gap in our female coach developer space, this course acts as a fantastic opportunity for these coaches to not only become presenters, but to provide another coach developer resource within our associations across NSW,” said Football NSW’s Legacy Plan Development Officer and Community Football & Member Services Sam McGowan.

“When we talk about legacy, once both intakes conclude, there will be another 25 female coach developers around the NSW region able to deliver community coach education courses.”
