Leading Football NSW official Sarah Ho achieved a special milestone in Friday’s Liberty A-League Women’s clash between the Western Sydney Wanderers and Central Coast Mariners at Wanderers Football Park.

Sarah officiated her 100th A-League Women’s/W-League match (a first for a match official, referee, or assistant referee) after being appointed as the assistant referee for the Round 7 clash in Sydney’s West.

The well-respected official commenced her national league career as an assistant referee in 2003 in the Women’s National Soccer League and made her (then) W-League debut on Saturday 1 November 2008 in the Round 2 match between Central Coast Mariners and Perth Glory at Parramatta Stadium.

Sarah also officiated in 67 A-League Men’s matches as an assistant referee from 2007-2015, and currently 111 matches as an Assistant VAR since 2019.

Also a school teacher, Sarah was the first female to officiate in the A-League Men’s competition in what was a huge milestone in itself.

The FIFA badged official has also been an assistant referee for a record eight W-League/A-League Women’s grand finals, including the first six of the competition (2009-14, 2017, 2019).

Football NSW would like to congratulate Sarah on this outstanding achievement and for being a true ambassador for female match officials in Australia.
