The Rangers started on the front foot. Rosaria Galea threaded through Leena Khamis who poked an effort wide.
Next, Galea had an effort which went straight at St George FC keeper Caitlin Russell as they continued their bright start.

It was all Rangers in the opening twenty. Khamis sprung into the box twice but couldn’t apply the finish.
St George FC had their moments in possession during the first 45 minutes but couldn’t put pressure on Rangers keeper Renee Krstanovska.

Genevieve Russo tried to spark something for the Saints with a shot before Paris Alcorn thrashed one wide.
Rangers made it 1-0 in the 38th minute. Rita Boateng flew down the wing before cutting it to Galea to fire home.
Janan Codmani had the final chance of the first half but her effort went right at Krstanovska as the Rangers took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Coming out of the break, Rangers felt just fine. Khamis had an effort cleared off the line by Saints Kate Dale.
The Rangers made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute. The ball fell to Camilleri inside the box and she swept it home.
They continued to hunt for further goals in the second half. Campbell shaved over then Boateng put one right at Russell.
Mt Druitt added a third goal in the 74th minute through Camilleri. Substitute Holly Dalrymple and Khamis opened it up for the attacker to fire home.
Khamis got her goal that her performance deserved just before stoppage time. Dalrymple provided the cross for the striker to make it 4-0.
The Rangers finished the game off in style through Dalrymple. She snatched the ball from the Saints defence and made it 5-0.
They saw out the rest of the game without any incident and were crowned League One Women’s Champions.
Post match, Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC coach Ben Gough reflected on a wonderful 2024 campaign for his side.
“We knew it would be a tough game, St George FC are a good side.
“We were clinical tonight and that was the difference.
“It was a good season, the girls worked hard and listened after the structural change we made at half-time,”.
St George FC coach Mark Greenfield was reflective after the game and touched on what was a positive campaign for his troops.
“It wasn’t our day tonight after a few illnesses and injuries.
“We were in it early before copping the goals and the second one killed the game and they were too good.
“That result doesn’t reflect our season, we did well this year.”
