Twenty three participants hand selected from Associations, Governing Bodies, NPL NSW clubs and referee branches from across the state took part in Football NSW’s Women in Football Leadership Program which included a 2-day Workshop held at the Pullman in Sydney Olympic Park.

The 2-day face-to-face workshop was week 3 of the 5-week program and facilitated by Monica Beazley from Monarch Management.

“When like-minded women come together, they create a network of support, rich in life experience and inspiration that can drive real change,” said Beazley.

“As the facilitator of the Football NSW Women in Football Leadership Conference, I witnessed first-hand how these connections ignite growth and encourage us all to push forward.  The greatest takeaway for me was realising just how many talented women are already shaping this sport – but also how much work still lies ahead to ensure they feel equal, valued, and truly at home in their clubs as leaders and change makers.”

The workshop was a great opportunity for the participants to network with women who are advancing the game within their footprint.

“Football NSW are thrilled to be able to continue providing these opportunities for women in football thanks to the NSW Government’s Legacy Program” said Football NSW’s Legacy Plan Manager Helen Armson.

“This is the fourth event we have co-ordinated and means we now have 100 women who have been through the program who have shared their experiences and extended their knowledge, network connections and capability.

“We are excited to see this continue and assist these women to promote change and growth within football.”

Football NSW’s Women in Football Leadership Program is a 5-week intensive leadership course directed at women currently working in football and those looking to work in football. The program looks to develop an individual’s skills and knowledge, whilst building confidence in women to pursue leadership roles and/or take the next step in their career.

The program takes place with a mixed delivery mode, incorporating online webinars, in person facilitator led workshops, as well as a self-learning component through electronic course materials. Some of the topics that are covered include personality types and team dynamics, sports governance, and conflict management.

The program is fully funded by the NSW Football Legacy fund thanks to the NSW Government.
