Round 6 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition is another weekend filled with excitement and anticipation for the six matches coming up.

It is headlined by the Match of the Round between Inter Lions FC and Central Coast Mariners FC.

Let’s get onto the preview.

Match of the Round: Inter Lions FC vs Central Coast Mariners, Sunday 6 April, 5pm, Majors Bay Reserve

Inter Lions FC face off against Central Coast Mariners FC down at Majors Bay Reserve on Sunday afternoon.

The Lions were beaten 4-1 by South Coast Flame FC to kick off Round 5 of the League One Women’s season.

Their lone goal came from Elena Antic late in the contest off the bench and she hopes to provide a similar impact on Sunday.

Inter Lions FC have two wins thus far in 2025 and if they could upset the Mariners, it could propel them up the ladder.

Central Coast Mariners FC suffered a 2-1 loss to Bankstown City Lions FC at Jensen Park last Sunday.

Despite the loss, Mariners have had a good start to the season and sit in third spot ready to challenge for the finals again.

Claire Denning produced a moment of magic in the defeat with a thunderous free-kick and she will be dangerous on set pieces again.

SD Raiders FC vs Bankstown City Lions FC, Sunday 6 April, 3pm, Ernie Smith Reserve

SD Raiders FC take on Bankstown City Lions FC down at Ernie Smith Reserve on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts featured in the Match of the Round and had a 1-1 draw against Hills United FC at Valentine Sports Park.

Former Ram Tenealle Hay was very influential on the wing for SD Raiders FC in the draw and she is ready for a repeat performance.

Alongside her, Brittany Duggan and Jessica Neville have been solid foundations at the back for SD Raiders FC.

Bankstown City Lions FC made it back-to-back wins with a 2-1 result against Central Coast Mariners FC.

The Lions have found rhythm in their season and coach Ante Covic wants them to continue their upward trend this weekend.

Midfielder Yumeka Yajima scored her maiden goal of the season and she has pulled the strings for the Lions this season.

Sutherland Strikers FC vs Blacktown Spartans FC, Sunday 6 April, 4:30pm, Harrie Denning Centre

Sutherland Strikers FC hosts Blacktown Spartans FC down at Harrie Denning Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The Strikers were beaten 4-0 by a dominant Marconi Stallions FC side at Marconi Stadium last weekend.

Sutherland Strikers FC will be glad to be back on home turf where they have got their only win of the season thus far.

Both Kiera Moukatas and Elka Coombes have scored this season and might be called on to find the back of the net in this game.

Blacktown Spartans FC had the bye last weekend before they get into a busy week for them coming up.

First up, they have their Sapphire Cup fixture against fellow League One Women’s side Marconi Stallions on Wednesday night.

They follow up with this fixture where they will be confident in securing something and helping to turn their fortunes around.

Marconi Stallions FC vs Nepean FC, Sunday 6 April, 5pm, Marconi Stadium

Marconi Stallions FC welcome Nepean FC for their game down at Marconi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Stallions won 4-0 against Sutherland Strikers FC in their game at Marconi Stadium last weekend.

Their unbeaten start to the season has Marconi Stallions FC leading the League One Women’s competition which will please coach Michael Beauchamp.

Pene Bonovas has been a goal scoring machine and has piled in seven goals to be near the lead for the Golden Boot race.

Nepean FC finished off Round 5 with their 3-0 derby loss to Blacktown City FC at Jamison Park last Sunday.

The visitors face a tough task heading to Marconi Stadium but coach Josh Jacka will have them ready for action.

They will look to the combination between Tahlia Mitchell and Caitlin Abbass up front to get something from the game.

Camden Tigers FC vs South Coast Flame FC, Sunday 6 April, 5pm, Ron Dine Reserve

Camden Tigers face off against South Coast Flame FC at Ron Dine Reserve on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers played out a 3-3 draw against contenders St George FC at Ron Dine Reserve last weekend.

They have taken points off both St George FC and Central Coast in 3-3 draws thus far in 2025 and aren’t a side to be taken lightly.

Both Lisa Fressard and Chantelle Barnard found the back of the net in the result and will be hungry for goals again.

South Coast Flame won 4-1 against Inter Lions FC down at Sir Ian McLennan Park last Saturday afternoon.

Custodian Ciara Wade has done well since taking over as main keeper and she has made some fantastic saves thus far this season.

Blacktown City FC vs St George FC, Sunday 6 April, 5pm, Landen Stadium

Blacktown City FC hosts St George FC in their game down at Landen Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts won their first game of the season getting a 3-0 result against local rivals Nepean FC last weekend.

Olivia Moar fired home the opener in the win and she has formed a solid partnership up front with Amber Precious.

Coach Michael Hawthorne hopes they can take this momentum and put in a big showing against the Saints.

St George FC were involved in a pulsating 3-3 draw against Camden Tigers FC at Ron Dine Reserve last Sunday.

Janan Codmani scored twice to help secure St George FC a point and she has been an unsung hero for them in the last few seasons.

The Saints remain one of three sides unbeaten through 6 rounds and look to get themselves back in the winner’s circle.
