Round 7 Preview – League One Women’s

Round 7 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition offers up a buffet of footballing delights across Sunday headed into this weekend.
We have six games to digest including first taking on second and the Match of the Round between local rivals Blacktown Spartans FC and Blacktown City FC.
Let’s get onto the preview.
Match of the Round: Blacktown Spartans FC vs Blacktown City FC, Sunday 13 April, 5pm, Blacktown Football Park
Blacktown Spartans FC host Blacktown City FC in the local derby at Blacktown Football Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Spartans were beaten 4-0 by Sutherland Strikers FC in their travels to Harrie Denning Centre last weekend.
Despite the loss, the Spartans will be primed for their first derby clash in the League One Women’s setting.
Angelique Lynch made her return to the side last week and she was a key signing for the Spartans in the off-season.
Blacktown City FC were blown away by St George FC in their 6-0 defeat at Landen Stadium last Sunday.
They might have lost against one of the heavyweights but the visitors will be reminded of their strong win the week before.
Blacktown City FC might look to Kiera Hastings and Amber Precious to provide the goals in this local derby.

SD Raiders FC vs Sutherland Strikers FC, Sunday 13 April, 3pm, Ernie Smith Reserve
SD Raiders FC face off against Sutherland Strikers FC down at Ernie Smith Reserve on Sunday afternoon.
Sixth place SD Raiders FC returned to the winner’s circle with their 1-0 success against Bankstown City Lions FC.
Amanda Radmilo has been an ever-present force for SD Raiders FC and remains one of their ey contributors.
Up front, Abigail Boag is another player who can chip in with some important goals for the hosts in their chase for the top four.
Sutherland Strikers FC won 4-0 against Blacktown Spartans FC down at Harrie Denning Centre last weekend.
Custodian Ariane Bacot collected her first clean sheet of the season in the result and she hopes to repeat the dose in the south-west.
Also in the win, Dianne Wilson rounded off the win with her maiden goal of the season to kickstart her campaign.
St George FC vs Central Coast Mariners FC, Sunday 13 April, 4:30pm, Barton Park
St George FC take on Central Coast Mariners FC in their game at Barton Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Saints were ruthless in their 6-0 win against Blacktown City FC at Landen Stadium last weekend.
Captain Nicole Besz goes about her business quietly in the backline and also drilled home a penalty in the win.
Alongside her, the duo of Tayla Cvetkovski and Tara Palmer have pulled the strings in midfield for the Saints.
The Mariners had a comeback 2-1 win against Inter Lions FC in the Match of the Round last Sunday afternoon.
Leia Puxty scored the winner in the result and her work down at the back was vital to the Mariners success.
Another Mariners who caught the eye was Ruby Govind-Aley who delivered some lethal set pieces across the contest.
Camden Tigers FC vs Inter Lions FC, Sunday 13 April, 5pm, Ron Dine Reserve

The Tigers added another point to their bank in a 1-1 draw against South Coast Flame FC at home.
Ashlee Taff showed off her skill with a superb strike and the leader will be ready for another big game on Sunday.
The Tigers have had back-to-back draws so they will be ready to secure their first win of the campaign.
Inter Lions FC took the lead before being beaten 2-1 by Central Coast Mariners FC in the Match of the Round.
Captain Zoe Katsionis was dynamite in midfield, winning tackles and having a full range of passing for the Lions.
Isabella Romarate King patrolled the backline well and she also provided some key free-kicks in the game.
Nepean FC vs South Coast Flame FC, Sunday 13 April, 5pm, Cook Park
Nepean FC host South Coast Flame FC in their game down at Cook Park due to be played Sunday afternoon.
The side was beaten 4-0 by a high flying Marconi Stallions FC side in their travels to Marconi Stadium last Sunday.
It is a rebuilding year for Nepean FC who have endured a tough start to the season but they try to build towards a positive performance.
South Coast Flame FC snatched a point late in their 1-1 draw against Camden Tigers FC at Ron Dine Reserve.
The Flame head into this game ready to fire themselves back in the League One Women’s top four with three points.
Molly Lawless scored in one of those contests and the midfielder has fit into the Flame side well since her signing.
Hills United FC vs Marconi Stallions FC, Sunday 13 April, 5:30pm, Valentine Sports Park
Hills United FC welcome Marconi Stallions FC to Valentine Sports Park for a mouth-watering clash on Sunday evening.
The hosts are refreshed for this top two battle after having the bye in Round 6 of the League One Women’s competition.
Elin Rosenberg Cemazar was heavily involved in their last fixture and she might be ready to find the back of the net in this game.
Hills United FC have struggled against the Stallions in recent contests and will be keen to rewrite the script on Sunday.
Marconi Stallions FC won 4-0 against Nepean FC in their game at Marconi Stadium last Sunday afternoon.
Laura Malagon Avila scored the opener in the comfortable win as has provided some solid support for the Stallions front three.
This is a big clash for Marconi Stallions as they can move six points clear at the top of the League One Women’s ladder with victory.
