Cemazar rounded off the display with the pick of the goals. She weaved through several Strikers defenders to roll home for 8-0 in the 92nd minute.
Post match, Sutherland Strikers FC coach Hanif Verjani reflected on the result for his young side tonight:
“It was a tough game for us but it was good exposure for the young squad. They will take experience from this and we’re in a long term project here. [Arianne] Bacot has been great for us and kept it from double digits. I was proud of the girls for competing for the whole game.” said Verjani.
For Hills United FC coach Alan Tasses, he reflected on the clinical nature of the performance from his side:
“I think we controlled the game well, getting a few early goals and I think the difference from previous years was being clinical. We pride ourselves on our defence and [Nicola] Simmons has enjoyed being in Sarah’s world behind the back four. Defence wins titles and hopefully that might ring true this year.” said Tasses.
