Valentine Sports Park was the stage as Football NSW hosted the Girls Talent Support Program (GTSP) tournament in April during the school holidays.

With teams participating from all over NSW, players born in 2009 and 2010 took part in what was a memorable experience for all involved.

There was some fantastic football played and it was a great experience for not just the players but the staff also,” said Football NSW’s Player Development Manager for Girls, Nadine Shiels.

“Our Regional NSW TSP teams were involved in the tournament as they held a Camp with sessions the day prior to each tournament as part of the final selections for the NSW Country State Teams.

“Northern NSW, Central Coast Mariners and Western Sydney Wanderers all took part in the tournaments which significantly added to the level of football on display.

“It provided a meaningful challenging environment for all players and teams involved,” Shiels ended.

Football NSW wishes to recognise the following players on their achievements at the tournament:

  • 2010 Player of the Tournament – Grace Duggan (Illawarra Stingrays)
  • 2010 Goalkeeper of the tournament – Layla Mullins (Highlands FC)
  • 2009 Player of the Tournament – Erin Blayney (Northern Tigers)
  • 2009 Goalkeeper of the Tournament – Helayna Gibson (Western Sydney Wanderers)

The Girls TSP term two will commence on the 27th of May for 2011 born players.
