Football NSW has proudly announced the launch of the Grassroots Female Coaches Mentoring Program, a dedicated initiative aimed at supporting and empowering female grassroots coaches across New South Wales.

This innovative program is proudly supported by the NSW Office of Sport through the NSW Football Legacy Program and the Australian Government, Department of Health and Aged Care’s Play Our Way Program.

The Grassroots Female Coaches Mentoring Program is designed to provide aspiring female coaches within Community Football Clubs expert mentorship opportunities, helping them enhance their skills, confidence, and leadership within the game.

The program will feature in-person mentoring visits from experienced coaching professionals, offering personalized guidance and practical advice tailored to each coach’s development needs.

In addition, participants will gain access to a range of development opportunities, including workshops, networking events, and online resources, all aimed at fostering growth and leadership in grassroots football.

Key highlights of the program include:

  • One-on-one in-person mentoring visits with seasoned coaching experts
  • Access to exclusive workshops and development sessions
  • Networking opportunities with fellow female coaches
  • Ongoing support and resources to enhance coaching capabilities

Football NSW’s Head of Women’s and Schools Football Hayley Todd saw this exciting initiative as an ideal opportunity to further develop female coaches at the grassroots level.

“Football NSW is committed to creating an inclusive environment that nurtures female coaching talent at the grassroots level.

“This mentoring program is a vital step in our efforts to increase female participation in coaching roles and to provide meaningful support that helps female coaches succeed and thrive in their journeys.”

The first of its kind, the Grassroots Female Coaches Mentoring Program creates a platform to engage with community coaches on a personal level.
