Round 12 Preview – League One Women’s

Round 12 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition features some important games which might help to shake up the ladder.
It is a Super Sunday with all six games to be played and headlined by the Match of the Round ‘Battle of the Lions’ between Bankstown City Lions FC and Inter Lions FC.

Match of the Round: Bankstown City Lions FC vs Inter Lions FC, Sunday 18 May, 5pm, Jensen Park
Bankstown City Lions FC host Inter Lions FC down at Jensen Park in their game on Sunday afternoon.

Danielle Rutstein has seven goals thus far this campaign and has been a valuable signing for Mark Greenfield’s side.

SD Raiders FC were 4-1 winners against Blacktown Spartans FC at Ernie Smith Reserve last weekend.
Abigail Boag scored the opener for SD Raiders FC and she has a knack for finding the back of the net often.
This game is a replay of the 2024 semi-final which SD Raiders FC lost in a shootout so they might be looking for a measure of revenge.
Blacktown Spartans FC vs Camden Tigers FC, Sunday 18 May, 5pm, Blacktown Football Park
Blacktown Spartans FC hosts Camden Tigers FC down at Blacktown Football Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Spartans were beaten 5-0 by a rampant St George FC in their travels to Barton Park last weekend.
Lauren Wickremeratne came off the bench for her first appearance since Round 2 and hopefully might give the Spartans some further attack going forward.
The Spartans might have shipped five goals but their defence remained tight and has been their strength this season.
Camden Tigers FC lost 3-0 to Bankstown City Lions FC in their game at Ron Dine Reserve last Sunday.
Youngster Maya Miller has cemented herself in the Tigers side after moving from Bankstown City Lions last season.
Keeper Samantha Fulwood has appeared in almost every game for the Tigers and will look to make some big saves on Sunday to secure a first clean sheet.
Marconi Stallions FC vs Central Coast Mariners FC, Sunday 18 May, 5pm, Marconi Stadium

The Stallions bounced back with a crucial 2-1 win against a dogged Inter Lions FC side last weekend.
Midfielder Angelina Graiche was the hero in the result and she hopes to provide a similar impact on Sunday.
Their win combined with other results have left them just two points off the lead, so three points on Sunday might vault them to the top.
Central Coast Mariners FC were 2-1 winners themselves against Hills United FC in the Match of the Round.

The hosts held their own for a while before falling to a 4-1 defeat to high flying SD Raiders FC last weekend.
Captain Paris Kambouris made her return to the field after being out since Round 6 which will give Blacktown City FC a boost.
Rhea D’Mello equalised in the first half with her striker and the defender can pop up with some important goals for the hosts.
Sutherland Strikers FC earned a point in a feisty 1-1 draw against South Coast Flame FC on home turf.
Dianne Wilson was the goal scorer in the stalemate and she has been a consistent performer for the Strikers in 2025.
Alongside her, Kiera Moukatas and Elka Coombes will be key contributors for the visitors on Sunday.
Nepean FC vs Hills United FC, Sunday 18 May, 5pm, Cook Park
Nepean FC hosts Hills United FC in an intriguing game down at Cook Park on Sunday afternoon.
Nepean FC head into this game refreshed after they had the bye in Round 11 after progressing in the Sapphire Cup mid-week.
While they had the week off, Nepean FC did beat Blacktown Spartans FC 1-0 in the Sapphire Cup to set up a fixture against Western Sydney Wanderers FC.
Forward Paris Staal was a goal scorer in their last League One Women’s game and she is hungry to make it back-to-back games with goals.
Hills United FC suffered their first loss of the season in a 2-1 result against Central Coast Mariners FC.
Despite the loss, Elin Rosenberg Cemazar found the back of the net again and looks to add to her tally on Sunday.
Winger Rachel Glendenning put in a tireless shift in the contest and she will be ready to motor again this weekend.
